Fresh Cut Flowers – A Day in the Life of a Hedonist, Gourmand, Lush, and Adventurer
Great day today! After sitting at my desk and exchanging emails with my boss long enough to establish I was, in fact, in my office, working, I took off for a (long) lunch (hike). I was looking for a good hill, some mileage, and cell reception, still I was still, technically, working. I settled on a trail I’ve wanted to attack for some time. In spite of the near one hundred degree temperatures, I headed to the (lower) Oat Hill Mine Trail in Calistoga. I hiked up nearly five miles, had “lunch” at the Holm’s Ranch site, then did a combination of hiking, trail running and unintended parkour all the way down. I reached the car at precisely ten miles, per my fitness app.
After a quick meal of substance at home, I got all cleaned up and headed to a “Meet-Up” event with a women’s networking group I enjoy. Five gals were gathering to learn to make Venezuelan arepas and drink batidos. Sadly, none of the gals showed up, so it was just me and the organizer, but, as we both love hiking and travel and adventure, we had a wonderful and delicious evening.

Arepas, a yummy slaw, accompanied by a batido and great conversation; a recipe for a super fun Friday evening!
it looks like you had a very productive day. x
